As you know our staff constantly searches for the “best” available items and wine to list on SonomaChef! We found this fantastic Cabernet Sauvignon that we simply had to share with you. Our only hesitation is that it is produced in Mendocino County, and the location of this vineyard is 7.7 miles from the county boarder or one digit off from Healdsburg’s zip code. Since our station in life was to offer you only Sonoma County Products, We were considering not representing this winery, but the wine is simply too good not to share it with you!
Albertina Wines is our typical boutique winery! It has limited production; this Vintage 2002 was one of only 478 cases made. This is what connoisseurs crave for!
You must try this with our CK Lamb rack, prepared in puff pastry with mushroom duxell, and basil. The blend and sweetness of the fruit in the wine, along with the flavor of the lamb and basil, make an explosion on your sensory front line!
Our hidden gem received a Wine Spectator rating of 85! (Nov 2005) That’s pretty good, when you consider a $150 dollar bottle of Opus received an 86. This fruit flavor, fully bodied wine is not tannin rich so it doesn’t pucker or dry out your mouth! It was aged in oak for 20 months, and bottle aged for over 20 months, so it ready now, and for the next couple of years!
